Radio working funny after SIRIUS install

Yesterday I removed the radio and half of the dashboard looking for a wire to splice into the power my external sirius receiver. I have one of the old Audiovox receivers, not a new one. I first tried to take power off the accessory and ground wires going into the radio, and blew the radio fuse in the fusebox twice in the process. Instead of blowing more fuses, I decided to take power off the cigarette lighter wires behind the cupholders, and that worked fine. The satellite receiver turns on with the car power, and the radio works as well once I replaced the fuse. However, today I took a three hour drive and noticed that the radio would turn itself off while being used, three times over the course of the drive. Also, the radio doesn't turn off with the ignition now and instead stays on all by itself unless I turn it off manually. Anyone exerperience this before?

OK well I've noticed now, that the radio turns itself off exactly every 20 minutes.

That means the radio isn't getting the signal from the car that the ignition is on. (The radio will work for 20 minutes without the key in the car) You either cut a wire, missed a connection, or also blew the fuse in the radio - it's in the back where the plugs go.

Ahh, awesome. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll take a look at it as soon as I can.

I haven't gotten the chance to check the connections and fuse in the back of the radio yet, but a new development has arisen. The radio will not turn on at all. The lights are lit up like they are supposed to be with the headlights on, but no power when you turn it on. This started sat night. I checked the fuse in the fuse box, which I then proceeded to drop behind the kick panel, so I replaced it. This worked sat night. Sunday the car wasn't drive at all, and this morning I got into my car and the radio wouldn't turn on again.
