iPod connector problem - help!
I installed my ipod connector almost 6 months ago and everything worked great until my ipod got ruined, it only played if it was plugged into somthing including my car (the ipod connector was probably the culprit to this) anyways i got a new ipod the same model and everything i just swapped my old for a new one.. i got it all set to go with songs and when i went to plug it in to my ipod connector in my car it played the songs very very very low i had the ipods volume on blast and turned up my cars volume up until it made a screeching staticy noise.. i hadnt used my ipod connecter in a while before my new ipod so perhaps the wire was pulled at some point accidently, causing a bad connection
.. im not really sure! anyway if you had a similiar problem or have any suggestions let em know- should i go back to the dealer? i know the ipod works fine.. anyways thanks!
If the ipod connector was installed at the dealer, then definitely take it back to them. Why bother with the hassle?
If you did the install yourself, I would pull the radio and double check your connections are secure. Also check the connection between the ipod cable and the adapter box (I'm not sure what the box is called that the cable plugs into...)
I am assuming this is the OEM ipod kit, vs. the Aux-in kit.
Good luck...

yep its the oem and i did get it installed it at the dealer.. a whopping $400+ too... anyways i guess ill head back there and see whats up.. just hope they dont charge me for labor when its just a simple fix- thanx for the help!!
I did mine myself. It was probably a 2-3 hour job for me, but I was being extra careful. But in the end, there really isn't much that can go wrong, outside of loose connections. I seem to remember that there may be a fuse in the adapter; but I don't remember for sure.
