PAC-SWI-ALP question

Sorry if this is already posted. I just bought an Alpine deck and the PAC-SWI-ALP and will soon be atempting the installation on my own. I have just one question. I'm supposed to connect the yellow wire from the PAC controller to a wire in the steering wheel. According to the instructions this wire in the steering wheel is White/Red/(yellow dots).

My question is, does anyone know where this wire is located and what's the best way to get to it? Any pics? I've installed a lot of decks in my time, but never needed to open the steering collumn.

hints? advise? thanks!

Lie under the dash, there is a single loom coming down from the column, you will find it in there, no panel removal required

I looked under the dash and there are a lot of wires there. I did find one that is White/Red/(yellow dots). Is there only one wire with this color code? I tapped into it, but I can't seem to control my PAC-SWI-ALP. It was hard to tap into with one of those wire taps so it's possible I didn't make a good connection....

I don't know if I should try to retap or look for another wire with the same color code....

Thanks! I actually just finished it and read this! Boy I wish I read this first. I ended up taking the connection much further down and cut away some of the black wrapping to get to it. I realized my programming problem was due to the fact that I only spliced into the wire. In fact, I needed to cut the wire off. I guess the extra resistance made a difference.
