Aftermarket SIRIUS

I have a 2005 with the HK radio. I added an aftermarket radio with Sirius to my last car, and now can't stand "free" radio. Can I use the Sirius module from my old JVC radio in my Mini? Are there any after market Sirius modules that will work with the HK radio? The dealer wants $1K for the upgrade, 500 for the radio 50 for antenna, 50 for install kit, 2.5 hours @ $150 per. Seems high. I like the look of the built in unit and the display on the head unit, so built in would be my first choice over adding a stiletto outboard, Feed back please

I have the factory nav system, and the dealer said i could not add the sirius radio. So i went to Best Buy and had them put in. I have the sportster model. It fits just fine, i had them mount it under the switch panel. It works great.I still have the stock H&k system that works fine also. The only way you can tell i have sirius is the antenna that i had locatated just behind the radio antenna, it's so small you really dont see it.

I forget to mention they charged me about $75.00. for installation.

You cannot use an aftermarket-specific tuner for an OEM application.

You should not require a new radio tuner, here is the kit you need:

Sirius Satellite Radio - MINI Cooper/Cooper S
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=635

This will include everything needed for installation.

Your dealer is incorrect also, Sirius can be used with NAV.

Indeed it can (check my sig). The only issue is that you can't use the OEM SIRIUS antenna with factory Nav, because they don't make a combined SIRIUS/GPS antenna for the MINI. You just have to use an aftermarket antenna... but you get 100% OEM functionality.
