iPod Aux Input w/HK, CD & Sirius Radio?

I have a 2003 Cooper S with the Harmon Kardon stereo upgrade. It has the CD player (no CD changer) and the Sirius radio installation.

Can I install this 1/8" iPod aux input from Outmotoring.com on this radio with the and keep my Sirius radio?

http://www.outmotoring.com/mini_auxi...dio_input.html

(I get different answers depending on whom I'm asking.)

Does anyone have a similar setup in their Mini?

Thanks,
Rob C

You will want to check in the audio forum, but I am pretty sure you can. I have the non-HK radio and was able to do it, but there was a "splitter" type thing that had to be installed on the back of the stereo first.

Yes - I have a similar set - it uses a port on back of the radio.

Yes, this is a simple install that goes right to the head unit not the back where the CD changer would go. There is a very simple install thread on the radio section of the message boards. What you'll get is a wire setup with a plug on one end and the 1/8 on the other and a plate to mount it. You pull down your knee bolster on the driver's side and reach up to the back of the radio, plug in the wire.. string it to where you want it, I followed the install thread and dropped it down to the space between the down tubes.... push everything back together and use a "patch cable" 1/8 to 1/8 to plug in any electronic that uses a headset... the radio forum explains it more clearly.. but
YES you can do that and not affect your sirius or CD...
