I got one about two weeks ago. I'm happy with it. My aux input is installed at the forward end of the center console -- just forward of the storage tray -- so that running a cable from the Tuneflex output, which is at the bottom (connector) end of the unit to the aux input is a nice neat installation. Even better, my wife bought me a cable with an auto winder in the middle so there's no excess cable.

When installed and an iPod mounted, the iPod does block the center stack. I would have liked the gooseneck to be a bit longer so the iPod would be positioned higher. You can move it around as needed to reach the climate controls, etc. I've noticed, though, that when moving it you can sometimes loosen the connection just enough to kill the power.

Inserting and removing an iPod is quick and easy.

No matter what type of FM transmitter it is, you'll always be degrading the audio to a bitrate of 64-92kbps. Most MP3s are encoded at 192kbps.

What year is your MINI? The DICE iPod kit is a hardwired solution that allows for CD quality audio and steering wheel control.

Griffin Tuneflex is simply a charging dock with line-out jack (no FM transmitter). I'm using a similar product, Ten Technology FlexDock. It works fine except that its rather low position makes it awkward (frankly a bit dangerous) to read the small iPod display and operate its controls while driving. I may be switching to DICE in the future.
