Fiberglass sub box

My dad knows how to work with the liquid fiberglass, is there a special compound to use? How 'bout the cloth you put it over? Im not gonna lie, my dad and I were watching Unique whips on Speed Channel, and he said he knew how to do it. Help?

Flannel,

Try this board for fiberglass tips and tricks. www.fiberglassforums.com This is where I spend some of my time when I'm not on this board or my Accord one.

I used to do this a lot when I owned my car stereo shop. One of the easiest methods is to cover the part you want to mold with a cheap dropcloth. make sure you form fit it around the part. Lay your fiberglass cloth over that, forming it around the part as well. Once it's in place, paint it with fiberglass resin. That's it. Once that's done you can cut pieces of wood to make the rest of your box. When your finished, seal the entire thing with resin to seal it. Enjoy your new box!
