Sound deadening options?

Not mini related, but for my 74 beetle project.

My car is in body shop, and before re-assembly I want to do the entire floor pan and firewall, and all other flat surfaces with some sound deadening material before putting interior back in

Aside from Dynomat (good product but Way over priced), what else is there which would be a similar product?

eDead

I did a fair amount of research to see what people liked other than dynamat. The conclusion was try to find something that is butyl. Why that is exactly I forgot (sorry). The cheapest you can go is peal and seal from Home Depot, but that kind of scares me. My conclusion based mostly on people's responces online were to go with a product named eDead. http://www.edesignaudio.com/category.php?type=damp It is much cheaper than Dynamat and apparently about as good. I will be installing my eDead v1se^2 and v3 hopefully this weekend if I get my car back from the shop in time. If you're willing to wait I'll certainly report back my finding. One thing I can say already is that they were very quick. I ordered late sunday night (midnightish) and got all of my order by mid day wensday. I was very impressed!

There are two basic types of stick on panels: asphault (dynamat) and vinyl (dynamat extreme). Vinyl not only absorbs more sound, but also weighs much less. I chose to go with a generic version of the dynamat extreme, these from partsexpress are very inexpensive.
