Question about replacing the radio!!! please read

Ok, so when i went to the audio store, they told me that if i wanted to install a JVC radio into my mini, the resale value will be lowered dramatically.. is that true?

Probably not - unless they're telling you what an awful installation job they'll do!

thats an idiot you spoke to (probably unaware how to do the install)....regardless if the future buyer doesnt like it you can always remove it to resell or install in the next...my 06 has aftermarket it sounds and looks better i did the install its not hard at all

Last year I purchased an Alpine system for one of my other cars at Best Buy. Although it is not an issue for me with the car it was installed in, they told me that for free they will take it out and re-install the old system and then install in my next car.

I have actually done that before with another car although it wasn't Best Buy and it wasn't free. When I was trading it in, I had my expensive after market system removed and re-installed the stock system. It wasn't free but it wasn't a lot, like $100. Well worth it if the system you are buying is expensive.

Sounds like your audio store doesn't like making sales of car stereos. Either that or they simply don't know how or don't want to install in a MINI.

car stereos are surprisingly easy to install. they make direct plug harnesses for almost all auto makes now adays. i have done about 4 installs in the past few years and have had no problems whatsoever. do it yourself so you know it was dont right.

all aftermarket lowers resale vs a bone stock car. its common sense. but not to the extent that he is suggesting.
