Duh, I swear I don't ride the short bus, but I am trying to activate Sirius on my '05. I have an account, and Sirius instructs me to "tune to channel 184" to authorize. The factory unit can only "scan" to a channel, and when I am in the Sirius mode, it prompts me to call the 800-SIRIUS number.

Is there a trick to this?

All you need is the unique number of the radio. I forget which button you hold in to get it on the screen, but it should also be printed on the receiver box in your boot.

Then you can call or log into the web site. Make sure your radio is on and in sirius mode, then activate using that serial number. Within a few minutes they'll beam the activation from the satellite and your radio will update and be enabled.

It doesn't need to be on channel 184, don't worry about that; and it probably isn't litting you simply because it hasn't been used since they changed the preview channel from another channel.

 

Remember to park your car outside for the process. Took me a while to trouble shoot my XM because it was parked in my garage.

 

Push and hold the 'soft function' key for SAT. The headunit will then scoll display the ESN of your tuner which you'll need for activation. Make sure the unit is on and outside in clear reception area when you activate it as mentioned above.
