Does anyone know when updates for the DVD nav system will be available for purchase from Mini Dealers? And if so, about what they might cost ?

 

Firmware or Map Updates?

Map Updates in the past have never been available from the dealer but instead had to be purchased direct from Navteq....

Firmware updates can be done by your dealer, depending on the dealer is whether or not they will charge you for them. Or you can take the risk of finding the firmware online, downloading it and doing it yourself. 99% of those who do it this way have no problems.

 

There have been several reports of dealers refusing to update the Nav firmware unless there was an existing problem. In that case, the easy recourse is to update it yourself using a download.

Map updates from Navteq cost $199.

 

As my fellow NAMers have explained you can hope your dealer does it or with a little computer Know-how do it yourself.
