I have a 05 MCS with no HK sound package...
I find the sound of speakers not as good as I was expecting it to be...
Now I am looking to go to BestBuy to get another set of front and maybe rear speakers...

Any sujestions anyone might have? which brand seems nice... which model... what should I tell best buy guys to do for me to have a beter sound out of my speakers?

Advantages:
I like the sound.
The crossovers fit in the door (not much space)
Bought from Crutchfield - decent price and included a cable to convert the factory plug (no cutting wires)

Disadvantages:
Required a spacer, made mine out of MDF it was very easy using a drill and a sabre saw and I have very little wood working experience.
Tweeter mounting: I used 2-part apoxy to secure the Polk surface mount cup in the stock location, which would not be very easy to undo.

 

I used Infinity 5010cs components. I used the stock speakers as adapter rings after removing the cones and magnets. The infinity tweeters fit into the stock snap-in mounting brackets after I dremeled them out a bit. I like the Infinitys because thier output is comparable to the stock speakers, only much more detailed. You can get them on ebay for around $120.
