waiting for the MCS

I am a hopeful new msc owner. I am more confused than ever about both the audio and the nav system. Does the HK system really sound like ****?
Also why does the NAV system need CD's? I have a nav in my fx35....it rocks.

The HK sounds extremely good, it's a well balanced system that was designed for the MINI. Some people, but not a lot complain about the bass response, and yes if you're looking for window shaking bass then you're going to be disappointed with the HK...

As for the Nav system, it uses a DVD, Nav on 2002 and early 2003 MINIs required CD's since then it's been a DVD based system. The DVD is where the map data is stored. The plus side is that updates are easy to do, just pop in a new DVD and away you go. The downside is that they only come out once a year and they're not cheap...
