Cars ride by with the boomin' system...

Wagnbat got me off my butt to take pics of my stereo system. So here it is in a quick photoshop web gallery. I'll make a dedicated page one day.

The amp is an Autotek Mean Machine 75.1 and it fits perfectly under the passenger seat. The subs are Diamond's shallow D3's. The sub box is completely removable with a quick disconnect plug and is the same height as the seats when folded down making a flat surface for hauling. The Alpine 9855 headunit has Alpines iPod interface so the iPod is controlled directly through the HU. and I'm waiting on the SWIX with a proper firmware for a MINI to come in to the stereo shop.

I don't have dimensions because I didn't build it but I will be more than willing to take some for you. When I do that I'll take some more pics. I had this built by Kevin at http://www.dedona.com a local stereo shop. The box is more kind of T shaped. It has the top you see and underneath it just has enough wood to surround the speakers. Does this make sense?

I love the 9855. With that running my stock speakers it made a world of difference. The amp is solely for the subs. Only thing I don't like is how slowly the iPod interface scrolls through the playlists. And it doesn't keep a memory of what the last playlist you selected was so you always have to start from the beginning of the list. Oh well. It bumps! I'll try to get dimensions soon.

How does it sound if you have stuff over it? In the boot I mean.

Sounds great. I've had 40lb. bags of dog food over top and while the bass gets a little muffled it's still there just not as tight and crisp.

I'm thinking of painting the grills silver to match the interior seats. What do you guys think? I don't really like the grills but I'm in realestate and have to move signs from time to time so I want the speakers protected without having to remove the box.
