Navigation & Audio Part # for SIRIUS PNP AUX INPUT
Part # for SIRIUS PNP AUX INPUT
Hey all, im looking to hookup a SIRIUS PNP unit into my fiance's 2004 MCS (non HK). I havent purchased the PNP unit yet, but will soon.
Basically my understanding is that the Sirius PNP unit transmits a signal wirelessly to an FM channel. I dont think im all into that based on signal consistency being proabley low. Ive read on these forums that you can hook the PNP unit into the AUX input in back of the MINI OEM reciever. Now do i need a part number to make this happen? Or will the SIRIUS unit just plug in back there? Dont i need some male to male type adapter to plug into the AUX input.
Part numbers with names would be very helpful!! Thanks everyone!!

I installed a Kenwood Sirius Pnp unit in my '05 MCS. I used the MINI Auxilary Audio Input. You can get it from your dealer for $39 or from OutMotoring:

Installing the Aux Input is easy and in my case did not require any tools. I was able to reach behind the stock head unit and plug it in. Took about 2 minutes.
Here is one of the many threads about the audio input:

After that, I installed a Terk Sirius Antenna on my dash so I wouldn't have to have it on the roof. The reception is great (as good as on my car with it mounted on the roof).
Here's a photo of the Terk Sirius antenna (it's pretty small and cheaper than the Monster Cable antenna):

I used an add-a-circuit fuse holder and hard wired a power plug. For more info on how to do that, check here:

Here's a picture of my Kenwood Sirius PnP unit below the toggle panel:

All of the wires are completely hidden and I pull out the unit and pop it into my other car whenever I want.
Hope this helps. You'll LOVE Sirius.
