i havent pulled my stock headunit out, but i am going to be replacing it with an Alpine 9847 head unit, amp, new component set front and rear.

I need to know what all i need in order to hook the head unit up.

I am going to purchase the wiring harness so i wont have to cut up the factory wiring, but do i also need the antenna adapter or mounting bracket which my local audio shop is showing in their books for this car? Or will the antenna and new head unit work fine without them?

Im not new to the car audio scene, as ive installed litterelly dozens of complete custom systems in my time, but i always like to know what i need before i pull things apart.

lastly, im pretty sure i dont, but how would i know if i have the HK system? *used car, not specified*

 

You will need harness adaptor, aerial adaptor, facia adaptor

If the Mini is a saloon look in the right boot cubby, if there is a big box - then thats the HK amplifier - if you have this you will need a HK enabler

Ive got an alpine 9847 to install. Fusion 4 channel amp, Rockford fosgate 6.5+tweet for front, Fusion 6.5+tweet for rear, Fusion 12" DVC sub for the boot in a custom build box made by myself.

I normally not a huge fan of fusion but i got a smoking deal on some of their higher end components when a shop closed down last summer. Amp and Subs were in my last car and sounded awesome. Speakers will be first installed in this car, but sounded great when i bought them from the demo board.
