Navigation & Audio Bluetooth Phone Setup
Bluetooth Phone Setup
There have been a lot of great threads on bluetooth phones kits etc, but nothing seemed to be perfect. I went to various dealers to find out when the bluetooth kit for an '05 would be out using the steering wheel buttoms. The answer was "I don't know". No one really knows. This is unacceptable.
In the meantime I have bought the Vcontrol bluetooth setup. I will send a post when I get it installed. I've heard the reception of the phone and it was excellent. Will keep you posted.
On another note I have also bought the Vcom navigation system and will post a thread when it's installed.
I will keep you posted.

What is Vcontrol
Vcontrol is a hands free, up to 4 line Bluetooth system, that requires no earpiece or cradle for the phone. Your Bluetooth enabled phone can be up to 30 feet from the vehicle. It contains a small Bluetooth reciever, aux speaker, microphone, and compact answer/dial/volume button. The microphone head is attached to the steering column with cable and reciever buried under the dash. The speaker, as well as answer/dial button is small enough to fit in various individual preferenced positions in the cockpit..You press answer/dial button to make/recieve calls like other Bluetooth systems...the rest is voice activated and hands free with all the features you want. On the Plus side..it has superior noice cancelation technology for "wireline to wireline sound quality for the person receiving your call. The aux speaker is good and similar in audio quality as the most expensive speaker phones with plenty of power and volume. At $299 before install, it is a good value. On the down side, there is limited availability to interface with the auto-mute function on OEM radios and none as yet for MINI..which if were avail, would allow for volume control on the steering wheel control. This brings up another consideration...if you enjoy your car audio moderately high in volume and the Bluetooth runs through your head unit audio speakers, you will find yourself turning your audio systems volume down when you get a call or your callers voice can blow you out of your seat
