Navigation & Audio Alpine or Sony Changer?
#1
Most talk is about the Alpine CHA-S634 changer and I understand that Alpine makes the head unit and that they are considered by some to be a better brand but the 634 is expensive.
The Sony CDX-T70MX is only $150 and this guy had no trouble installing it.
The way I figure, both units are junk. They have no support for modern codecs or the associated benefits of such (i.e. automatic track crossfading), and there's apparenly a 200 track per disk limit imposed somewhere along the line.
So I'm thinking, "Why not get the cheap Sony (whose silver/red color matches the car perfectly) and use it for a year or so, then upgrade to a hard drive player that stows nicely in the rear storage compartment when available/affordable?"
But, does the Sony work with US radios? Does it work as well as the Alpine? And where can I get a connects2 adaptor in the US?
Of course, this here is the real holy grail but I know little about it:
