H/K Break in?

I was wondering if the H/k system requires a substantial break in period? I'm on about 4 hrs and It still sounds tinny and very boomy! Please tell me this will go away!

Settings: H/K mini soundfield without driver on
all other settings are neutral.

Any ideas??

You may have already seen this, if not, it's a good read.

If you have already read this, than I don't know. I found mine pretty much as you described it. By 12,000 miles I had somehow either found the settings to suit my likes, adjusted my expectations, or it was broken in.

I fixed the boominess by cuting the bass down some and fading toward the front. I also have the Driver setting ON.

I think the driver setting causes problems witht eh eq and soundfield, it definitely makes it too boomy, and the image still isn't very good, it's just closed in. I think electronic, bass/treble centered, driver off is perfect. It runs up to full volume without distortion, is very tight and clear - great!

Thanks all.. I'll play with it a little more. I'm still hoping that it just needs a little break in time!!

There is a good writeup floating around the web about all the settings of the H/K. I think it is probably linked here as well but I know there is a link over at www.motoringfile.com
