So I finally bit the bullet and got CarPlay in my 2019 F55. I had the base (BIT?) radio, and @sb2002 hooked me up with a literal “plug and play” retrofit system. He provides a custom harness that makes the install simple and it is fantastic!

Let’s get this out of the way - it’s expensive but well worth it to me. And the process was relatively easy. Once I received the kit, sb2002 helped me with the install via text. Then, he brought in @ndal to code the newest software to the unit and it’s amazing. The touchscreen, colors, display resolution… all top notch. Steve and Nikos know what they’re doing and make the upgrade pretty easy. Hey, if I can do the install, pretty sure anyone can, too.

To quote Ferris Bueller, “It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.”

Anyways, since I've gotten carplay fullscreen, I think I've discovered I might like Apple Maps better. Good job Cook...you might be pulling ahead now.
