I went looking for information about the Terk XMD1000 XM Direct module a lot of us are using. Anyways, I found this page. Look near the bottom. They have a "Smart Digital Adapter" that appears could replace the Blitzsafe module. What I do not know is if this will work with our (apparently) Alpine head units.
I am still unable to find out from anyone what the model number is for our head unit, or proof that it is an Alpine unit.
Anyways, anyone consider using this or try one?

UNfortunately this wont work with our stock H/U because it requires you to use an RCA connection to the head unit (at least from what I see on the page you had a link to). This is really for aftermarket Head units. If it would work I would love it but the connection for the din plug may not match up. If the RCA's are not required and the din plug will transmit the audio it may work fine but remember the connection is made through the factory changer controls.

Yep, the Terk adapter only works with the Alpine aftermarket head units. The idea behind the XM direct thing is the one box can, with different adaptors function for a variety of different brand OEM and aftermarket head units. Blitzsafe is the only one to make the MINI/BMW interface.
