Nokia CK-7W Car Kit Anyone?
I just returned from CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Vegas and saw some pretty cool stuff!
One thing I found was at the Nokia booth. they happened to have a loaded Nokia MCS H/B that was pretty nice. It had the CK-7W car kit and the guy even had my phone slaved to it. The interface is a wired one but looks cleaner and a little smaller than the MINI one.
I am trying to find out if anyone has used this one before?
I will try attaching a pic but not sure if it will work or not since I haven't done it before...
Here is the link to Nokia's site incase it doesn't work!

Thanks for any help!

I use the CK-7W in my 04 MC. It has its ups and downs. The good part is that you have the bluetooth functionality combined with the wired functionality (I don't use that aspect of it) at a very low price. It also does just about everything I need it to and doesn't have any problems with signal quality. The bad thing about it, however, is that unless you are willing to pay a lot extra and do a lot of wire splicing and what-not, you are forced to use the included speaker, which is not at all top-quality. Also, every time you turn the car on or off, you are forced to hear it beep, indicating that it has or has not created a connection with your phone. If you are on a budget, it is great and I wouldn't recommend anything else. However, if you have the extra few bucks, go with the dealer-installed accessory.

Thanks for the info.
Do you know what it would take to splice it into the system so it uses the factory speakers? I have the H/K system and would rather tie it into the speakers. I don't mind doing the work as I can handle any aspect of the wiring. I would just need the roadmap to do it. If you know what it takes or know where I can look I would appreciate it.
Thanks!

What bluetooth phone do you have? Not that it matters. Look at the Sony HCB-30 and the it has an optional cable to tie into dash head unit. I've been doing reasearch on this to see if it works w/ the HK unit.
I have the Nokia 6820. The reason I like the Nokia piece is that the button in the center of the controll activates the name recognition so all I have to do is press and then say the name I want to dial.
I'll check out the Sony. let me know what you find out about the Sony interface to the H/K

Both the nokia & ericsson can do voice dialing
It is best to use the same make of kit as phone for best functionality
Both kits can be fitted without splicing wiring & the sound put through the car speakers on HK & non HK cars using the right adaptor.
The car wiring adaptor ericsson sell does not fit the mini

Mikeythemini,
Do you know where i can find the right adapter? Thanks for the info. I will probably go with the Nokia since all I ever buy are Nokia phones (they seem to be the only ones to handle the abuse)
