Navigation & Audio Diagnose NAV Screen not working
Navigation & AudioBring your GPS and favorite CD or MP3. This is where navigation and audio options for the Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs are discussed.
Hello, when I bought my 2003 MCS it had been upgraded with an aftermarket radio that left the NAV non-operable. The radio went out so I popped the stock radio back in, and it works thought the Nav screen is still blank.
I checked the NAV drive under the passenger seat, and it does have a disc and powers up as expected. I checked fuses 10 and 22, and only 10 was blown so I installed a new fuse.
After all my checks, the screen is still blank. Is there another fuse or relay that I'm missing? Not sure if the screen has gone bad or something else.
For the record, I'm not worried about using the NAV but the systems screens would be nice to have back.
Any ideas? I don't want to just start buying parts unless I know what's bad
Been doing some research for other options, and I found this schematic. If I understand correctly, there should be a third white socket (noted as CB-891C in this pic) to provide power to the screen.
Anyone able to confirm the "third" plug is needed when equipped with SatNav?
I went back through the wiring, and all of it is good. I pulled the wiring loom out and then checked to make sure there wasn't another plug I was missing. Unfortunately, I don't see anything else.
I dropped the Nav screen and the plugs are securely on it, and all the wires disappear in the looms so without knowing what wire I'm looking for I'm at a loss.
The rest of the HK stuff works well, I'll keep a look out for a black plug to see if that's what I need or not. It seems BMWs of that same era use those connectors as well so I guess I need to plan a trip to the PicknPull.
