I just installed the xmdirect/blitzsafe combo. The sound quality is WAY better than the Roady2 hooked up to the AUX input, but I can't figure out how to make it automatically display the Artist/Song info without pressing the Info button. Is this even possible?

Nope. Many have tried, all have failed. Holding the INF button turns on Scroll (though it turns off when the car is started again), but it seems to do nothing.

 

So let me get this straight.....

To get the title/artist info, you push the info button on the HU?

That's no big deal, but what does the display say when the title/artist info isn't up...the XM channel you're listening to, or nothing?

 

It displays in order:

1-artist...only has limited viewing area (no scrolling) so long names will be chopped off.
2-song...same problem as above.
3-genre..." " "
4-station number (default display).

Better than nothing

 

I had an aftermarket Blaupunkt CD/MP3 player in my last car which scrolled ID3 tag information from MP3s. This unit was at least a couple of years old. I can't believe that "new" HUs (including the Boost radio in my '05 MCS) don't have this feature! Sheesh!

 

Wonders if they will make a chip upgrade for the adaptor. would be nice!
