So I have an R56 that had a 2 din Pioneer stereo in it with the Metra kit that died a couple months back. I am getting a new stereo from Best Buy and they have a free install, but it says I need Harmon Kardon in the system for it to install. How do I know that I have it for sure? I have been assuming I have it because I already had the aftermarket stereo in, which they also sell, so I can't imagine them being unable to install this new radio, also from Pioneer.
Another thing, since I am probably doing this myself, would I have to remove the entire panels, from the tachometer to the hidden glove box, or can I just remove the center stack since I already have the Metra kit installed?
As far as I know Metra dash kit uses the same mounting points as the factory panel it replaces. So you will have to remove all the panels around in order to get access to 4 screws that are used to hold it in place.
