I need some MP3 help.

I took delivery of my '05 MCS about two weeks ago and quickly realized that interior storage space for CD's was going to be a problem. After seeing several threads here about the '05 head units being MP3 compatible, I thought maybe it was time to try a little ripping and burning on my PC. "Musicmatch Jukebox" software came installed on my computer, and it seemed easy enough to use, so I 'ripped' about 25 - 30 CD's to start. I organized each CD into its own folder, with the songs in their original order. However, when I burned the first disc (11 CD's & a total of 110 songs), I found that they do not play in the correct sequence in the MINI. Each CD shows as a track (TR1, TR2, etc.) and I can advance through the songs (TR1 -001, TR1-002, etc.) but they're not playing in the order that I burned them. When I play the disc on my computer with Musicmatch, they do play in the correct sequence. Does the MINI head unit not read the track encoding correctly? Did I do something wrong when I burned the disc? Any advice would be appreciated. This looks like a good solution to the CD storage problem, but I'd like to be able to find the albums/songs that I want to listen to.

You probably need to put numbers in front of your folders and tracks. See the third post in:

Thanks, LombardStreet. I didn't bother to name the folders, since the head unit doesn't actually display the folder name. I figured that I burned the disc with the folders in the order that I wanted them, and they would play in the car in the order they were burned. I guess from the link you referenced, that there is software in the head unit that causes the folders to play in alpha order by folder name. Maybe I'll burn one tonight and try naming (or numbering) the folders. I will say that the music sounds just as good as the original CD's.
