Alpine with touch screen...

I am considering the Alpine system with the DVD, CD, MP# and the touchscreen display. My concern is if it will clear the area under the speedomoter when the screen is deployed. Do any of you have this system or have seen it?

I've seen one, but unfortunately I don't have a pic or a link to point you to. If I remember right, it comes just up to the speedo or just barely into it. Course, depends on the unit as well. Some of those head units have larger screens.

I don't think it will be a problem.
If you go to any car stereo upgrade shop they can tell you if the clearance is enough for the MINI dash- I have seen flip up screens for DVD players in dash that fit just fine.

If you are looking at the Alpine IVA-D300 then just call Crutchfield and ask if it will fit the MINI dash OK. You might need a face plate trim adaptor and antennae BMW adapter.
