Sirius Question

Do you really have to spend 300-500 to have a code to activate Sirius on a mini when it came with Sirius sat?

Do some searches, several threads about this. Certain model years you had to pay the dealer to activate hardware. I don't remember the cost.

I activated Sirius on our 2012 MCS. The audio quality was terrible, especially for music. Got feed up. When I went to cancel, that is a horror story for another day. Horrible company to deal with.

The best price around would be a Coder, they charge $100, and around $160 for the FSC code.

Had both my 2013 and 2017 coded by the same person, he bought the FSC code from a Chinese BMW dealer. Yes it was legit!!

Also you might need a cable that wasn't provided during Satellite prep.

I needed one for my 2013 MCS, do a search, I have a few posts regarding that.

Is there any way to tell if my 2016 Mini needs a code? Or ... do I need a FSC code if the HD doesn't not show up as a radio option after Sirius transferred my account from the car I traded to this one I just bought on Friday?

If it doesn’t show up in the display, it has never been activated.
Yes you need to activate.

Stupid question --- how do I activate it? With a FSC code?

Yeah. You need an FSC code and a coder to do it.
If you’re in LA i can recommend a guy.

Others may may chime in on their method.
