Trolling for suggestions...

I'm getting the OEM Click & Drive mount for my F56 (waiting on shipping), and I'm going to install it using this method so it includes USB data as well as power.

Now for the interesting part: I write Android apps as a hobby.

I would welcome any and all suggestions or requests for features to have in an app that would launch automatically as soon as the phone is snapped into the cradle (using NFC to trigger it).

Initial thoughts:
- default display: silver winged MINI logo on a pure black background, with silver "sparks" streaming off of it in response to G forces.
- quick access to Google Maps
- front and/or rear facing video recording (user specifies retention period)

 

Fire up Torque or DashCommand app that connects to a Bluetooth OBD-II dongle.

I realize you were thinking of your own app, not somebody else's! Perhaps the new split window modes added to Android 7 might be useful for this kind of application. Or, since most of the time all we want out of Torque/DC is boost/power/MAF, maybe you could integrate an open source project to display a few values natively.
