iPod Interface box + lightning adapter = okay with iPhone 6?

Hey all, I currently have the Aux input & get power from a cig. lighter charger but would like something more streamlined. Is anyone here running the iPod interface retrofit box w/ 30 pin cable into a 30 pin -> Lightning adapter & have it work okay with an iPhone 6? All I'm really looking for is charging, track control w/ MFSW (ideally) and to take advantage of the HU's DA converter because the Aux input's audio quality is terrible if you sent it a very hot signal out of the phone at all.

I doubt this will work as the factory IPod interfaces uses the Apple Accessory Protocol which I don't think the iPhone 6 supports. But I could be wrong......

I think it would technically work & even charge if I ran a series of adapters at the end of the 30 pin cable. However, while researching this solution, I came across the MediaBridge solution for Minis. Unfortunately, I can not find anywhere to buy them.. Anyone have any ideas?
