InsallEdge Adjustable Line Output Converter
I've got a stock system non HK. I've got an 8" Audiobahn sub and 300 watt amp. Installedge.com has these adjustable line output converters for cars that don't have RCA's. It's adjustable from 2-60 watts.. I was wanting to know if this would be safe for my stock system? I really like the way my stereo is setup and don't want an aftermarket head unit. Any help would be appreciated.

What exactly are you asking? The output devices are meant to take a powered output and lower it to an intensity that an amplifier will accept. The problem is that you want to hook up a subwoofer, not a complete speaker set. The question is where the crossover will be to pull out the bass frequencies. Most subwoofers will have speaker outputs to the mid and tweeters after the bass frequencies ar filtered out, but you probably do not want to wire things to the subwoofer and then back up to the head unit for distribution to the speakers. If you put a crossover up front and just send the bass to the subwoofer, you should be OK. The power reducers need to go AFER the crossover in the bass output lines. The regular power from the crossover then goes to the stock speakers.
