What generation/model iPod will work with my 2007 r56 Mini Cooper S? It has the ipod interface cable in the awesome mini storage compartment above the glove compartment, and I tried using an ipod Touch, one of the earlier ones, and it wouldn't play at all through the stereo. I sometimes use my shuffle through the aux input but I am looking to get an ipod to keep in that storage compartment just ready to use whenever. Thank you for the help.

 

Just about any iPod should work, if it has a dock connector. I used to use a first generation iPod touch, so that should work. I'd be suspicious of a third generation iPod (the one with the 4 buttons in a row).

Edit to add: How are you trying to play it? You need to select CD Changer for it to work.
