'03 MCS Navi Not Working

Hey guys so I bought my '03 MCS about 3 months ago and I have been having trouble with the navigation. The Navigation does not light up at all and I have pushed and played with all the dials and buttons around it. I have had no luck with anything. I have checked both fuses F10 and F22 and they are both fine. Might anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Or any ideas for troubleshooting? Thanks

Due to $$$, most units are left dead (years of hot and cold, and vibration kills them)....some are gutted to hide tablets that work as GPS and more...some folks did have CD/DVD reader failures...those folks DID hack them to fix them...some older threads about bit around...try google "site search"... The built-in search here is date limited to prevent dead threads from coming back to life with loads of dead links (photo's, etc)...
If you find a working unit from a junkyard, what you have is a GPS with a 15 year old design...
Predating the DVD...later models used a DVD to store maps.. Older ones had a stack of DVD's...
Today, I have the maps of the entire us stored on a $40 GPS or a $10 app on a smartphone if you don't care for google....

Do you mean nothing at all appears on the screen, not even the MINI logo when you enter the car?

I'd start by checking the nav unit under the passenger seat.
Is the red light on?
Does the eject button work?
When you insert the disc, do you hear it spin up?

Nope the screen stays black the entire time. I checked on the navigation dvd thing under the passenger seat, and the red light is on and it ejects discs/ takes them in but I am not sure if it spools up (didn't particularly listen for it)
