MINI r56 '12 - aftermarket USB installation

Hi guys, greetings from Russia!

I am a happy owner of MINI Cooper S (r56) that was manufactured in 2012. It have MINI Boost CD and AUX. And I'm feel sick because of USB... which I haven't. How I can add it to my car?

Authorized services suggests only changing whole head-device (I mean total upgrade from Boost CD to Visual CD) which will cost 130-150k RUR (it's about 4500$) and it's incredible price! Also I do not need TV, BT or something else, I just need only usb-port to listen music from usb stick.

Even my car is on guarantee for now, I've tried to speak with unofficial 'clubs' and services which can make some custom installation but they said that they never did such things. Unfortunately we haven't such a big MINI's community in Russia so I doesn't find any actual information about USB installation on our forums too.

Only thing I've found is this kit:
http://en.bmwcats.com/mini/catalog/R...65/95/65_1813/
which can add usb and ipod ports, but this is only for MINI CD (not BOOSTed) and for retrofit...

So, maybe you can suggest something for my 4-wheel friend and me? Thanks!

P.S: I have searched this forum for 'usb' keyword but doesn't find any useful topic.

P.P.S: Here is my cute MINI.

Why not just use the AUX port? You can connect any MP3 player or smart phone to it. The sound is not quite as good as the USB port, but I have a hard time hearing the difference (I have both the AUX port and USB).

I'm not an audiophile but sound quality through AUX is terrible. Plus it depends on my smartphone DAC/equaliser and cable which interrupt quality of sound too. Also I'm using my phone as navigator and because of this it stick to the left corner of windshield so cable lies over the dash very ugly. I can split it with bluetooth handy but it will give additional quality loss. And finally I can't use buttons on my steering wheel to switch tracks...

As you see - too much headache because all of this. And if I'll use USB instead I can only plug in usb-stick and forget about it, just listening to my music with easy.

Btw, thanks for the answer.
