Lightning cable Y-adapter status???

I had heard that MINI was going to have a lightning cable y-adapter available by January that would allow using iPhone 5's to work with the the car audio. Anyone have any news on that?

I currently have a '09 with Bluetooth+USB option (non-Connected) and I bought it used without a 30-pin Y-adapter. I bought a knock-off Y-adapter on eBay and it didn't work with my iPhone 4 so I've been waiting patiently for an official lightning cable from MINI to try that with my new iPhone 5.

Thanks for any info.

I was at my dealer yesterday and no one had any info except for the standard "mini recommends the apple 30 pin to lightning adapter" line. I also asked about the iPhone 5 armrest snap in adapter. No one had any info on that either.

I have a 13' - its my understanding that NONE of the "knock offs" seem to work.. I have the OE Mini adapter along with a Apple 30>lighting adapter. Everything works, phone charges, wheel controls, song data on head unit..

I tried an aftermarket 30 pin adapter and it did nothing..
