Looking for Aftermarket Stereo With AMBER Backlight

Hello folks,
I recently bougt a used iPod kit that I couldn't get to work right. Long tory short I am looking to go aftermarket, but I don't think I can live with the ugly blues, greens, and reds that plague the aftermarket units. Every search I do nets me with various units that I could be happy with, except that they are discontinued. I wouldn't mind used... but I can't find even find them on eBay (is here someplace else for me to look?)

So, I ask for help!

I do have a few criteria:
  1. Must have option for full amber backlight
  2. Single DIN
  3. Must have ipod connectivity (text is icing... would love it but don't NEED it... just want to stream iRadio and Pandora)
  4. Bluetooth is a plus (if Bluetooth works with iPod but there isn't necessarily a USB or dock available, that would fit the criteria as iPOD functionality)
  5. Would LOVE to be able to control volume and skip tracks using the steering wheel, however this is not a del breaker at all. Thought I would throw this out there.
  6. $100 ballpark? A little over or under is obviously fine... but I don't want any of these $300+ units
Thanks in advance!

Nothing that I can think of comes with just amber lights, you would have to get a unit that does full color and customize it to just be yellow.

I guess I wasn't very clear.

It doesn't necessarily have to be exclusively Amber. I just need something that will match the vehicle. Black face and and Amber option. Hope that makes more sense.

The JVC units have fully programmable color and sync with your headlights being on or off. To keep steering wheel controls you'll need to buy a separate control box though. It works well... just not the easiest thing in the world to connect/setup.

Mine almost perfectly matches stock orange/amber with headlines on and is light blue with them off. Something like this might work for you: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_105KDR6...0.html?tp=5684

I can post a pic with mine (A95BT, should look similar) if you wish.

A pic would be nice if not too much trouble.

Are you able to control (mainly volume and skips) with the steering wheel controls?

You can customize what the buttons do -- mine is a little screwy since I wanted to be able to thumbs up/thumbs down with the buttons rather than skip since I only use pandora for music.

On my two spoke wheel (3 buttons on the back of each side) I have the right side set to volume up, mute, volume down and the left side set to preset up, change input, preset down. When in pandora mode the preset buttons control the thumbs up/thumbs down. If you wanted to just do normal seeking/skipping, you could just change the button mapping.

Will post a pic tonight

Thanks for the pic! That looks fantastic!

I found one on sale at best buy that seems to hit all my criteria. Should I just assume that it will work with the steering wheel controls or is there something specific I should look for?

I have this one. It also had RGB color mixing. I love it.
