Can't pair my phone to Bluetooth (2012 R56)

Disclosure... I have an old Samsung Convoy flip phone (Verizon as the carrier). I know, it's as old as the Pyramids at Giza, but I have access to a computer all day and I don't need a smart phone and I really don't need to pay Verizon's Data Package fee ($40). I'd rather put that $480 saved towards race tires and autocross entry fees than to the phone giant.

So, up until two days ago, the phone paired fine. Now it doesn't. So in trying to troubleshoot the problem, I deleted all phones from the car's memory and figured I'd start over and let everything auto pair.

But the car / phone is asking for a passcode. I was never given this info when I bought the car new, so is there a way to reset this code so that I can pair phones again?

Thanks in advance!

Mine did the same. I over thought the question.......it was asking me for a passcode not for some preassigned one.........I randomly made it 1234.......it worked.

Thanks. I tried that but it didn't work. Is the passcode originating from the car or the phone itself?

During pairing you should be able to enter any four digit code in the car and then retype that code in the phone to connect.

I found this video showing iphone and then blackberry pairing with both same process.

THANK YOU!!!

It worked! Gotta admit... When I was trying random codes at first, I acted this scene out in the car. LOL!
