Mission Control on 2014?

Hi,

I have a MCCS on order so can't actually test this yet but with the mini connected app on the iphone, will I be able to have the car talk to me like the Camden edition?

I have all options except Nav ordered.

From what I've seen, on the iphone app, it looks like it will but when searching the iphone for the ~1300 comments in the form of mp3's, I found none. Doesn't seem like they'd be stored on the car...idk...

My end-goal is to replace many of the standard mp3 comments with clips I find. Possibilities are endless......if this actually works on the car.

Thanks,

swjtx

If you have ordered the Mini Connected option (without the navigation option) it will work. Once you install the Mini Connected app to your iOS device, there is an option within the app to download the Mission Control "audio package".

Connect your device to the car via the y-jack cable, start the mini connected app on your device, go to mini connected in your car, turn on mission control. Hope this helps...enjoy...

Thanks for the reply Mayfair. I did order Mini connected. I installed the app on my iphone (haven't yet received the car) but can't find any mp3 files on the phone. Someone describing the Camden edition said there were 1300 mp3's on a memory card in the car for the Camden, thought they may now reside on the phone somewhere?

You are correct. The Camden model had a memory card, located in the glove compartment and you could modify the files or upload custom mp3. However, with the Mini connected app you won't be able to access the files or modify the mp3 or upload custom mp3 files.

Were you able to install the mission control audio pack? If I remember correctly, there are two audio packs you can install.

That's the part I don't understand. If Mission control works, those mp3's are somewhere and if they exist, they can be modified or changed for custom files. I thought they'd be on the phone vs. a memory card in the car but I haven't found them yet.

On the phone I see "Urban" and "Minimalism" Themes under mission control but they don't seem to do anything. (Remember I don't have the car yet).

This is regardless of the car. I downloaded the themes before I got the car. But it's impossible to access the list of audio files on the iPhone. There is no simple way for you to view the files like you would with a memory card. Unless you jaibreak your iPhone, and access the file system. Too complicated and not worth the effort I think.

Simply press the urban or minimalism themes and you should be able to download them. And once you get your car, just connect the iPhone and you will see it there (urban/minimalism) depending on what theme pack you downloaded.

I hope this clarifies everything.

I downloaded a couple apps (ifunbox is one) that allow you to browse your phone without jailbreaking it. Still, I cannot locate any mp3's related to Mission Control. They are somewhere otherwise the app wouldn't work so does anyone know where?
