SIRIUS Kenwood A2H installed!!!

So with the switch to the MCS, i'm selling the XM unit (see marketplace) and put in a sirius unit.

I dont like using the stock HU as the display, becasuse it is only 1 line. SO i purchased the Sirus Here2Anywhere reciever by Kenwood.

I mounted it using industrial velcro under the toggle bank (centered, of course.. for those of us who are TOTALLY neurotic)

The plastic piece that is behind the cigarette lighted (held in with 1 screw) has slots on the section that is parrallel to the floor so I drilleda small rounding to one end of the furthest slot back (since it is parrallel to the floor you could never see it, not to mention the etra width i added is about 2 MM) The power, antenna, and audio out cord that come out the back of the unit all go up into the wire are behind the AC and toggles via this small hole. the antenna cord is then routed through to the globe box and then up the weather stripping on the passenger side up behind the dash moulding. and then antenna is mounted center on the dash in front of the funny button type thing on the dash.

the audio in connects to the aux-in on the radio.

the power cord goes through knee bolster under the steering wheel and then behind the fuse box on the drivers foot-well and then to the boot AC adapter via the plastic moulding along the bottom of the car and under the rear seat (i did not want to give up my front Cig lighter plug (charge my cell phone - and looks better, IMHO) and was uncertain about hardwiring it (and i never use my rear boot 12V plug)

wires of any kind or visible int he following places:

If you put your head on the throttle pedal you can see about .25" of wire coming out hte back of the unit and into the toggle backing.

about 2" of power cord coming out from under the rear seat and then going under the plastic moulding (still workong on this)

about 2" of power cord right above the dead pedal in the drivers foot well.

I can correct the 4" of visible power cord with another 10' cig lighter extension cable.

But I'm wonder if having 20' is bad news for a 6v connection? will it get hot? also, is hardiwring it easier.. and where?

My dig cam is in the shop till thursday or friday, then I'll take some shots. I havent seen anyone mount like this.. and I must say, it is VERY elegant.

I like your set up. I'm planning on doing something similar when I get my Kenwood Plug & Play. Thanks for all of the details, I hope I can make mine look as good as yours sounds.

I see that you posted back in May - have you taken any pics of the set up since then?
