Navigation & Audio iphone 5 Snap In Adaptor Part Number
has yet to steer me wrong...
Good Afternoon Fred,
Part of what you heard is true but the part that pertains to you is not. They now have iphone 5 cradles for the older vehicles which just use phone (typically prior to 2006 production vehicles) and they have cradles for the newest vehicles (2013 with connective drive) For the vehicles which require the media format, which is your vehicle, the cradles will not be available until 2014. Call me if you have any questions.
Thank you,

For what it's worth, here's the reply from my parts manager.... has yet to steer me wrong... Good Afternoon Fred, Part of what you heard is true but the part that pertains to you is not. If you have a y-cable, make sure that it's unplugged (for some reason it can override the audio from the snap in adapters).
Gave it a whirl but it didn't work..... Very weird.

Update # 2: SA called. During the software update recommended by Mini USA, the radio "fried". 2 weeks to come in from Germany... No nav, no sound, no Bluetooth, no nothing.Mini corporate has no assistance to provide.... No, I am not kidding.
I wish! Actually it would be nice if the tires weren't over inflated and the wheels weren't out of balance. At freeway speeds, the thing quivers and shakes like jello. I can only listen to the radio intermittently because there's no antenna. Other than that, it's fine.
That's the big question, once they get the radio replaced, they will see if it works. I'm hoping it works. One of the things I did before I brought the car in to service was the communication test. I placed my phone into the cradle, launched Mini connected and performed the communication test. The phone and software communicated with the radio and the system passed. I have no idea what the issue is and neither does Scottsdale mini service department because they're just flying blind at this point. Oh well, I knew plug and pray was too good to be true.
I received this email announcement for the BMW cradle and I assume Mini version should be available. Right?
"If you own an iPhone 5 or iPhone 5S. BMW Apple iPhone 5/5S Connect Version Snap-In Adapters are now available to help you get connected on the go. Select 2013 models and later can take advantage of the full array of integration functionality (including Music/Media and BMW Apps) for $250. Play your songs during your drive, access “Plugin” and “Video Playback” features, and more.
If you have a pre-2013 model, you can still take advantage of phone integration for $135. A fully-functional music/media cradle will be available in early 2014.

According to my dealer , the cradle was released by Mini prematurely and was not supposed to be available yet ( I smell bull****).
I picked up my car and the nav doesn't work and there was loose piece of trim. Other than that, it works fine
Return the cradle
84 21 2 351 308 , this part number does not work with Mini connect on Mini Coopers. A few people have had issues, no sound through stereo for any apps or music apps. It seems that BMW has only released the armrest adapter for BMW cars only and not Mini. Check with your dealership...
Maybe I'll join for updates. I got a cable for iPhone with my MINI last week; it is for 30 pin connections (pre iPhone 5), so no good for me. It is also really short, useless for plugging in to the MINI USB and aux in ports AND looking for songs as well. Completely not intuitive. SIGH.
I just went into my itunes and copied all my music to USB Flash . Not gonna pay an arm and a leg for MINI adaptor.
+ 1
That cradle is nothing more than a $250.00 paperweight. I learned that the hard way. When Mini doesn't know what Mini is doing-we got a problem.
Can you not return it? I mean it isn't functioning as stated.
