Navigation & Audio Software update for 2007

The OEM Bluetooth uses the BMW MULF2 module. The last update for that module was released way back in 2008. Unfortunately unlike the newer 2011+ models with the COMBOX module, you need to go to the dealer to have the unit programmed. The newer modules can be updated using a USB stick.
However, I find it odd that your unit does not connect to the Galaxy SIII. If it is just a phonebook issue, then try the following app: Bluetooth File Transfer by Medieval Software
With it installed, some missing Bluetooth protocols are added to the phone which can help with compatibility. Kufatec, maker of my non-OEM bluetooth (FISCON), recommends that app for Android 4.x phones not synchronizing the phonebook.
