How good are the r53 HK speakers?
I have an 04 HK setup with an aftermarket head unit and HK enabler. Overall the system sounds good to me but I'm wondering how the speakers are in general. One issue I have is that the front speakers do all the work... I wish the system was more 'full' sounding. Am I supposed to use a different HK setting for that?
In general however, would a new set of speakers (assuming they are compatible with the amp/wiring) sound much better? What would one have to spend to make it worth it?
I'm curious what quality speaker they put in for what was probably a $1000 dollar upgrade at the dealership.

Just a guess....but after nearly 10 YEARS of heat and cold.....most car speakers are not as good as they were when new.....
The HK was always well respected at MODERATE volumes...but folks that wanted it louder were usually never happy.
One issue is with the HK amp/speakers is the impeadence is pretty non standard, and secondly many amps seem to fail....and are $$$ to replace.
Hopefully somebody will have more specifics for ya!!
