I'm using v48.3 of the Daten. I'll dig my VO out tomorrow if that's OK. Just spent two days replacing all the speakers and amping them up - sound quality and volume has arrived in my Mini.

That's a shame. I think if your software version on your car is past a certain revision then you need a FSC code. Glad you got it working, do you think it's worth it?

Pandora is definitely worth it. The other apps are kind of novelties. I do have an idea how fast my car warms up now though.

JimmyBlunt, good for you. I'm still struggling here. Do you know which version onwards need FSC?

Can some one explain this? Is there certain hardware the car needs? Or is this just altering the codes in the vehicle?

You obviously need the screen as well as a combox. So the full bluetooth option - 6FL is it?

It's definitely worth it ...

1. Agree to what FrozenMini said ... web-radio functionality or the PluginSupport like Pandora etc. is worth it already ....!!!
But personally for me in Australia Mog is working better and it's cool AND fast! Tried Pandora and it's similar but streaming isn't that smooth than with MOG..
Probably cos MOG is sponsored/supported by Telstra - that'S why you hardly get any dropouts even with the highest Quality
... and for that kind of style of music i like ( minimal tec ... ) it has a bigger variety available.

2. The temperature info is a "nice to have option" but in general all the Apps have pretty cool graphics and it's look just stylish in the car

Summary:
I would definitely go for the "Mini-Connected"-option again as just the PlugIn-option for further Apps opens complete different and unlimited possibilities....
.... having then a jailbroken Iphone gives you even more options in your hand

So as it's almost impossible to get the FSC Code in Australia it's a bit of work involved .. First to get it and then to activate it ..
but it's worth the money and i can help with that ... just PM me

actually i don't know what version needs the FSC code and till when you can get it working by just coding it ... maybe just try it and see if it's working?!?
My car was build 11/2012

For the FSC retrofit following options are required (per mini Database):
Code:
Navigation system Business S606A = Yes
 or
Radio MINI Visual Boost S6FPA = Yes
 or
MINI navigation system S6UMA = Yes

I'd like to try this, but have no idea where to start. Could you provide more instructions on how to get to the point of checking/changing the codes? I'm in the U.S. Would I need special equipment or have to go to a dealer?

Doing a lot of reading and this all starts with being able to read the codes on the car.

You need and obd2 USB cable to hook the car to the laptop. I ordered mine last night.

Could so with some more info on the VO and CHAMP2?

I was wondering is there any way of knowing if you have certain options installed? I don't have a dealer delivery ticket with all this info, so where can I look? Will it all come clear once I get the cable?

Guys, I am new in this forum and unfortunately I don't have "MINI Connected" item menu enabled in my countryman.
I have bluetooth and NAV and I believe I can somehow enable the MINI Connected option.

Could you please guide me step by step on what I need and how to make it working by myself?

Thanks a lot in advance!!

Thanks for the info. I was able to add $6NM to the VO but after chosen CHAMP at Process ECU, I can't find FA_WRITE in the Change Job list. I can see FA_WRITE when CAS or FRM is chosen. Any idea?

For everyone who got this to work successfully, I am trying to figure out if your firmware is at an early enough version for the Mini Connected without an FSC code. Can you read your CHAMP2 modules and provide the current version?

For example, hit F4 to "Read ECU" and then provide the readout: CHAMP2.C1A, CHAMP2.CI6, CHAMP2.C10, etc.

Thank you.

Hi guys, I just picked up a May/13 build Countryman S, it have SatNav,Bluetooth...etc which mean's it's Mini Connected "Ready"

or as per their codes : SA6UM+6NE (MINI Navigation System + Mobile Bluetooth Preparation with USB-Audio-Interface) are all in the car.

I ask my dealer about how to get it added, they confirmed today that Mini Connected is not available for Australia market due to the stupid regulation.

So, I search around and found this thread, keen to get my hands dirty and add/hack it myself.

I update the unit's software recently by downloading the required file (File name: UPD01006.bin) from http://www.mini.com/connectivity/sof...ate/index.html

and managed to get the Mini Connected App on iOS and the APK file for Andriod (OS need to be 4.3 and above).

Is there a particular protocol of OBD2 to USB cable required for NCS Expert to work?
