I am lucky enough to have mk111 sat nav... yay

its had some issues ever since ive owned the car, i dont use the navigation part of it as its stupid and android mobile phone navigation rocks.

the issues im having are it constantly ejects the cd. its like a yoyo in out in out in out

drives me nuts while im driving!!
also the screen occasionally turns off for a few minutes and pressing buttons does nothing!!

ive pulled the cd out for now but still resets all the time..

has any one else experienced this??

the only reason i want it is for me avg fuel economy and range.

any advice would be appreciated!!

You probably have a defective CD MK III unit.

 

Could be a loose connection. Go around the plugs and grounds and see if you can repeat the issue. The screen is driven by the nav unit by regular RGB signals. Without a disc it should still function.
