Navigation & Audio XM Antenna in 2013
Thats what Im thinking, but 2 dealers have told me I need a Sirius box installed.
Well, I'm trying to figure out how Sirius/XM sent me a radio ID if I don't have the it the car.
In any case, I would think the charges mentioned above should cover it. Except, uh, I don't understand the "installed" vs "uninstalled". I'm thinking that is for 2009 up until MINI offered it for "free" and us in 2013 when we had to buy it. Remember, in at least 2012 it came free and activated.
I think I'd like to see the box and the space where it goes. Also, the SA's don't know everything and this may be something new to them.
Have you tried MINI Connected online?

I called MINIUSA, and they didn't know squat, so they called both dealers I went to, and spoke with SAs.
How do we speak with someone at MINIUSA that has knowledge??
Last I asked the dealer with my 2013 I was told it's not equipped with the parts. I tried to see under the passenger seat where the box generally is but can't really. I think it's a styrofoam bin though.
Here is the response for BMWs and not necessarily MINIs...Further adds to the mystery, though.
BMW Launches Sirius XM Satellite Radio Retrofit Program
BMW Aftersales has announced a Sirius XM Satellite Radio retrofit program for 2010-2013 BMWs. Certain BMW model year 2010 to 2013 were built at the factory “Satellite Radio Ready”. This means the vehicle includes all necessary Satellite Radio hardware and can get satellite radio with a simple enable code. The enable code is available from BMW dealerships with an MSRP price of $375. The cost includes a one year subscription to the Sirius Everything package plus the Best of XM which matches the factory option offering.
To see if your vehicle is Sattllite Radio ready reference the attached chart or better yet contact your dealer. Most vehicles will only require the activation code but some vehicles may require a new head unit or satellite radio antenna.

I have S693A
I called the dealer, this time the General Sales Manager.
He stated "ALL 2013s come equipped with SAT prepped, all you need is the code to be programmed"
I too have:
"S693A Vorbereitung BMW Satellitenradio Preparation BMW satellite radio"
Can you PM your Manager and dealer so that in case I get the stall at the dealership I can make a referral?
I've talked to my SA (FLOW MINI of Raleigh) previously about this, if you're sat prepped (vehicle order code 693A) then yes all they do is input the FSC code and you're good go. They didn't tell me that the cost included the first year of service.
NO the 2013s don't have it under the seat, its built in to the dash unit.

I have sent letters to MINIUSA, Im waiting for management's response.
That will determine how I will proceed with reporting this SNAFUBAR the television networks I do work for.
More ammo for you guys.
I walked into Universal City MINI this afternoon.
The SA not knowing called the service manager, the service manager explained it could be done for $375 + $160. Thats better than my selling dealer, asking $360 labor!!
The SA pulled my "build sheet" via my key, and stated I don't have sat prep, the other SA said the radio had to have sat as an option on a button.
I then went to the parts department, where the parts manager pulls a full build sheet.
On the build sheet it shows S693A Preparation BMW satellite radio, as STANDARD EQUIPMENT, NOT under OPTIONS!!
I have an appointment next Thursday for programming, with a free loaner!!
Will let you know.

I decided to not go ahead and spend ~$500 to make XM active.
I talked SiriusXM into a free OnyxPlus with vehicle kit, and $77 year subscription.
The unit is smaller than my iPhone, full 3 bars with MINI OEM antenna.
Will spend the money on a stereo system upgrade.

I can't remember the gender at this time, but plug it into the end that points up.
Here's a quick and dirty install. 3 bars in my carport on the MINI OEM antenna!!
The iPhone pic makes it look bigger, but its smaller than my iPhone.
I just ordered the Proclip mounts.
Yeah, yeah, Im 57 and listen to Hair Nation!!

It's hard to justify spending $500 on it. I'd do it all day long for half that.
Did the cable in the "kit" you received from sirius/xm fit without installing a new cable?

From the kick panel to the XM radio, just fits!!If you can order a 6 ft, get that instead of 5 ft.
