Navigation & Audio Fiber-optic cables in the mini ?

Fiber-optic cables in the mini ?
Some audio shop I called told me the Mini Coopers with HK audio have fiber optic cables running throughout the car, instead of wires. Is this true?
He said, to put another system in it would run around $1500, since there are no speaker wires run from the speakers and to the amp.
