A few hours later, i get a voice mail, stating that they tried to reprogram and it didn't work, so they initiated some sort of technical request with Mini USA and they would let me know the outcome.

They called back a few hours later to tell me that they would need to keep the car overnight, Mini authorized the replacement of the radio and some other parts (should have asked what that meant). Anyways, will update on the outcome. They gave me a '12 Roadster to drive around and loving it

That really blows. Will now need to reactivate my Sat radio subscription, hopefully that won't be a hassle.

Good luck, Pleery. Read Soulmaker's posts above. Let us know how this turns out.

Woot! Voice Command works now. Plus, the CD player displays track names (it used to only display track number).

FWIW, the Service write-up shows no parts for this repair, just that the technician "made a puma case" and "made a request for an irap". Anyone know that all that means?

Glad it worked for you! What other options does your car have? I'm thinking of going to the dealership and look at what they have on the lot to see of they work.

Upload a scan of the paperwork so I can show it to my dealer.

Newbie here, but have the same issue with a new Roadster, took it back to a different dealer and they have had the car for a few days now, they think they can fix it, we will see.

Was hopeful, they tried reprogramming and replacing the button. Eventually they figured out the model doesn't have a com box and gave up on me :(

I like that idea!

I'd be interested in figuring out how to turn this into a secondary horn button....sometimes I find myself flailing at the hornpad when I suddenly need to honk. I'm not used to having to move my hand off the wheel rim to honk my horn (none of my VWs had this kind of setup).

The button is there even if you don't have the option

It was the same way on my Jaguar, I had a phone button on the steering wheel but I didn't purchase the blue tooth option so it did nothing.

In my 2013 JCW, there is a package called Mini Wired. In that package is:
- Voice-command
- Mini Connected
- Comfort Bluetooth and USB/iPod
- Mini Navigation system

it was $750.00 for this package.
