Finished Stereo Install - 02 R53 CooperS

Recently completed my stereo install in my R53 and wanted to share with the community. Not overly big but enough thump to make it enjoyable . Hope you like .

Head Unit: Alpine CDE-HD138BT
Chose this head unit due to the 4v preouts and features.

Sub: (1) Kicker CompVr 10''
Dual 4 ohm Voice Coil, 800W peak/400W RMS, Mounting Depth 5 1/2''

Amp: Kicker ZX400.1
400W RMS @ 2Ohm Mono. My amps Kicker Birth Certificate rated at 482WRMS. Chosen due to its small size and decent power

Cap: Stinger SPC505
5Farad Digital Hybrid Capacitor w/Volt Meter

Box: .8 Cu Ft , Amp and Cap are sank into the sub box for flush mounting when the trim plate was on. Box is 6 inches high made out of 3/4'' MDF. To get around the mounting depth issue for the sub. The back of the box was cut out to give an extra 3/4'' and room for the magnet to sit. Covering the hole is a metal plate which is sealed in place for an air tight seal. This was provided by my Kicker Dealer.

Finished Product:

Just after carpeting, before clean-up:

Box made and test fit:

Note: The black is not paint, it is Spray Rubber Sealant.
