Navigation & Audio Radio not working
Radio not working
I have a 2008 standard Mini. Today I got into my car after work and the radio was not working. The display shows nothing and there is no sound. Every thing was working fine on the way to work. The CD player will eject and take in CDs. Everything else seems to be working fine. Every thing is stock with the system although it is the "Premium" system. I checked the fuses I thought it would be and they were fine. It has been extremely hot and humid, and I have a feeling that might have something to do with the problem. Anyone have any advice on what to look for before I take it in to the dealer?
There is also a fuse on the BACK of the head unit . To change that you would need to take much of the dash apart.
I dont remember if the that fuse affects the CD changer as well or not. So I am not sure if the CD player ejecting means the fuse is good or not.
It could be a temperature problem in which case after the car has cooled down it may come back to life.

Depending on when you purchased the car and your mileage you may still be able to have it repair under warranty. I.E. if you bought it after today's date in 2008. and if you have less than 50K miles on it, it is should still be under warranty.
