Hey all....I'm new to this having sold my WRX to buy a Mini. So I need some help. I understand that the Mini has the spare tire under the trunk floor and the S models have the battery in the back? I want to add tunes asap and am looking for ideas. Show pics if ya have em. I am thinking if I have the room available to put the sub inside the spare tire, but since I havent' seen a Mini up close and personal yet, kinda makes it hard. Help a brother out!

T.

I don't have a MINI either (on it's way). I believe the spare is located outside of the car underneath the hatch floor. So there isn't a well in the hatch to place a speaker box.

On the S, the battery is in the spare tire well. And on the cooper the spare tire is in their. Either way you would have to do some modding to get a sub to fit. With just a cooper, you could remove the spare but for the S, you would have to relocate the battery. I know some of the "racing" batteries are small enough to be able to fit in the rear side storage compartments but then you might not have enough juice to power you system . I don't know, you might ought to stick with JL's stealth box or a custom one cause I don't think putting a sub in the spare well is easy. Hope it works out. Peace

kgmini is right. The spare tire on the MC is NOT inside the boot - it's on the underside of the car exposed to the elements.

Many have built a false floor in the boot to hold amps and subs. Do a search for "sub" and you should find some pics.
